Central Server
Importantly, Vision's central server is not tied to any single workstation so it can be accessed from anywhere. The central server stores all data, userfolders and the intranet (the practice's internal network). Through the central server it's quick and easy to carry out automated backups and workstation management.
Vision works alongside existing systems you have in place. It provides a range of enhanced and additional facilities to support practice staff and improve the service to clients.
Vision can be accessed from anywhere on the practice network – at the main practice, branch surgeries, at home or even on your iPhone.
Setting up different user groups – for administrative purposes – is effortless; the system can easily be tailored to recognise ‘vets’, ‘nurses’ or ‘reception staff’ as separate groups.
All practice data – including protocols, procedures, staff handbooks and so on – can be stored and managed centrally. Rather than having to edit a document and then send the updated file to all users in the practice for them to save on their own systems, it’s possible to update the document centrally and then simply alert all users to the update.
Shared printers are set up on the central server for ease of use and administration.
The task of backing up is extremely important and sometimes neglected or overlooked. With Vision comes the ability to set up central back up procedures, which can be automated.Owing to the fact that it runs on a central server, it’s possible for any member of the practice team to bring up his or her own desktop at any terminal on the practice’s network – whether it be at branch surgery one, surgery two or even at home. It offers an efficient and workable way of ‘hot desking’ and is ideal for vets on the move.
